Six months after the 3/11 earthquake, Sunday, September 11, as many as
10,000 protesters marched Shinjuku, Tokyo demanding shut down of nuclear
power plants.
The new Noda administration of the central government and the Tokyo Governor
Ishihara forced to changed the course of the march to circumvent the most
popular area around the Shinjuku Station on the eve of the demonstration and
deployed huge riot police forces beforehand.
The police arrested 12 demonstrators including one French man in white
“protective clothing” who protested against obstruction of a far right
chauvinist group, Zaitokukai.
