Dear Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster,
I am an Austrian citizen, retired official of the Federal Ministry of Labour inViennaas well as former member of this organization in the Austrian Board of Paroles. I learned that you set execution dates for two inmates before the state’s supply of an execution drug expires.
The state of Missouriacquired doses of Propofol through a vendor while its manufacturer, Teva Pharmaceuticals Industries in the UK, did not realize by whom and for what purpose its drug was being purchased in theUnited States.
Europe imposed export restriction on the sale of drugs for killing human beings to make sure that the prohibition of the death penalty inEuropewill not be violated by commercial relations. The department of corrections are aware of it. European pharmaceutical companies have implemented a controlled distribution system to ensure the drug be only accessible to hospitals and doctors and not departments of corrections in theU.S.A.for the state murder of human beings.
The departments of corrections found ways to circumvent these regulations in contempt of the European values of human rights to be able continuing the “legal murder” of human beings. You may not be proud of this understanding of “justice” and your contempt of European values. Keep in mind, European countries are no “banana republics” of your system of “justice”! This episode of pathetical political propaganda and circumvention of European export restrictions for the sake of executions will alert all of us what you are capable in our name.
Stop using Propofol for the executions of human beings! Stop the use of Propofol for “state lynching”! Not in my name!
Sincerely,
Heinz Leitner
