Dear members of the Alter Summit,

Please find hereinafter the outcomes of the meeting of February 9^th of the Alter Summit Coordination Committee:

First and foremost, all organizations members of the Alter Summit are invited to come in Brussels for our next plenary session on March 15^th (from 9:30am) and 16^th (to 1pm). Translation will be provided and there will be a possibility for reimbursement of travel expenses. Please note that as Alter Summit we call to support all the european actions called by ETUC for March 13 & 14, and certainly to join the Brussels meeting on March 14th afternoon. Details follow, but you are warmly welcome in Brussels the 14th, in order to empower the Alter Summit’s presence !

– Amendments on our manifesto should be sent before February 24^th so that the working group in charge of preparing the discussion of March 15^th will be able to consolidate the proposals. A second round of amendments will take place after March 15^th.

– The event in Athens is confirmed from 7^th afternoon (from 14pm) to 9^th June. A big introductive event should take place on Friday 7^th, then discussions will take place on Saturday 8^th followed by a possible demo. Further discussions should take place in a joint European working group until March 15^th.

– The Alter Summit will organized 4 workshops in Tunis at the Word Social Forum. If you wish to participate to the Alter Summit activities in the WSF, please contact Yves Hellendorff (U50YHL@acv-csc.be)

Vous trouverez ci-après les résultats de la réunion du Comité de coordination de l’AlterSommet du 9 février :

Nous vous invitons à Bruxelles pour notre prochaine assemblée plénière du 15 mars (à 9h30) au 16 mars (jusqu’à 13h). Un dispositif de traduction sera mis en place et le remboursement des frais de déplacement sera possible. Notez que comme Alter Summit nous appelons à renforcer toutes les actions initiées par la CES les 13 et 14 mars, et certainement le rassemblement à Bruxelles le 14 après midi : vous êtes donc bienvenus le 14 pour renforcer la présence de l’Alter Summit dans ce rassemblement.

– Les amendements au manifeste doivent être envoyés avant le 24 février, afin de permettre au groupe de travail en charge de la préparation de la discussion du 15 mars sur le texte de consolider les propositions. Un second processus d’amendement se tiendra après le 15 mars.

– L’évènement de juin à Athènes est confirmé. Il se tiendra du 7 juin (depuis 14h) au 9 juin (vers midi). Un grand évènement est prévu le vendredi 7 juin au soir, des discussions pourront se tenir le 8 juin suivies d’une manifestation. De plus amples discussions se tiendront au sein d’un groupe de travail européen en lien avec le groupe de travail grec d’ici au 15 mars.

– L’AlterSommet organisera 4 ateliers à Tunis au Forum Social Mondial. Si vous souhaitez participer aux activités de l’AlterSommet au FSM, contactez Yves Hellendorff (U50YHL@acv-csc.be)
