Dear fellow activist
On 11 November 2011 ‚The People’s Charter to Create a Nonviolent World‘
was launched. The Charter can be viewed at:
http://thepeoplesnonviolencecharter.wordpress.com
The Nonviolence Charter is designed to help build a global consensus
against the use of violence in all contexts and to encourage action in
that direction.
So far, the Charter has gained individual signatories in 49 countries and
endorsements from organisations in 20 countries. You can see the names of
individual signatories and endorsing organisations by clicking the
appropriate links on the Charter website (above).
If you wish, you can read an article, ‚The Race to End Violence Before We
End Life‘, outlining progress to date at:
http://www.countercurrents.org/burrowes260213.htm
We invite you to consider signing the Nonviolence Charter. If, after
reading it, you would like to sign it personally, you can do so online.
And, if it feels appropriate, you are welcome to invite others to consider
signing the Charter as well.
Finally, we ask you to consider whether an organisation with which you are
associated might be invited to consider endorsing the Nonviolence Charter.
Organisations that endorse the Charter, together with a link to their
website, are published on the Charter website following receipt of the
appropriate advice by email.
If you like, you can listen to the Charter song ‚We Sing Nonviolence‘ here:

We would be happy to answer any questions you may have during your
deliberations.
For a world without violence; Robert Burrowes, Anita McKone and Anahata Giri
