Dear..Home Secretary, dear Immigration Minister,

RE: The forced Deportation of Gambian Lesbian Mariama (H/O ref: S1447771/002) Royal Air Maroc Flight AT801 at 18.10 on Wednesday 24th July from Heathrow Terminal 4

Mariama is a lesbian from Gambia, a country that is well known for its brutality and laws against lesbian and gay men. The President recently declared, „If you are convicted of homosexuality in this country, there will be no mercy for offenders…. Homosexuality is anti-god, anti-human, and anti-civilization. Homosexuals are not welcome in theGambia. If we catch you, you will regret why you are born“. Mariama faces certain persecution and the likelihood of rape, forced marriage, torture and imprisonment in theGambia; she will have to live in hiding to survive, as other lesbians have had to when sent back by the Home Office.

Strong words have been spoken in Government about LGBT rights and against forced marriage, yet the Home Office continues to flouts those principles when it sends women like Awa back to countries like the Gambia. Do not let this injustice be carried out in your name.

Sincerely,

Heinz Leitner
