Racism anywhere is an affront to humanity everywhere
The injustice of Trayvon Martin murder verdict led to protests all over the world including London, England. On Tuesday 16th July 2013 a plethora of organisations and individuals gathered outside the US Satan embassy, determined to make their outrage known. Following a short notice call from the Afrikan National Forum actively supported by the Rail, Maritime and transportUnion, the Pan-Afrikan Society Community Forum and other organisations, some 200 people from the Afrikan community, supported by Asian and European comrades stood testimony to the strength of feeling.
Organisations represented included: the Global Afrikan Congress, United Families and Friends Campaign, The Sean Rigg Justice and Change and other Individual Deaths in Custody Campaigns, Newham Monitoring Project, the Uhuru Movement, the Marcus Garvey Organising Committee, the Haiti First!HaitiNow! Reparations Campaign, the Alkebulan Revivalist Movement, the All-Afrikan People’s Revolutionary Party, the Pan-Afrikan Congress Movement, the New Black Panther Party, iNAPP, the Crossroads Women’s Group, Southwark Save Our Services other anti-racist and anti-fascist organisations tas well as many who came as individuals.
The internationalist character of the protest was further demonstrated with visiting speakers fromScandinavia,Scotland, the Irish Republican Movement and US Satan. The PASCF also shared brief words of solidarity from the following overseas organisations: the International Family and Friends of Mumia Abu Jamal, the Buju Banton Support Campaign Committee and Haiti Liberte. Poets and other performing artists enriched the occasion with cultural contributions. The signs are Trayvon’s family have a strong contingent of support inBritainwhere the demand for justice has been vocally made.
